The Keynius locker system manages personal and shared lockers through its cloud-based “lockerwall” platform. Administrators can assign, monitor, and release lockers remotely using the Keynius Portal or app. Lockers operate in different modes—Assigned, Flex (one-time), or Flex (timed)—to suit fixed staff, rotating teams, or visitors. Hardware options include wired Smart Home (René) or battery-powered BLE locks (LEO) for flexible deployment.
What authentication options do staff have for accessing lockers (PIN, card, mobile, etc.)?
Staff can access lockers using several secure authentication methods. Supported options include PIN codes, RFID cards (MiFare and HID), mobile access via Bluetooth through the Keynius app, QR code readers (IP65-rated for outdoor use), and payment terminals supporting contactless or contactless + PIN verification.
Can lockers be automatically assigned and released based on user activity or shifts?
Yes. The Keynius platform supports automated locker assignment and release. Through its Flex scenarios, lockers can be automatically assigned when a user authenticates and automatically released after use or after a set period—ideal for shift-based or hot-desking environments.
How is locker usage tracked and reported for facility management?
Locker activity is logged and accessible in real time via the cloud. Administrators can see which lockers are occupied, by whom, and for how long. The system reports status, battery levels, and connection health, and allows for remote actions like forced openings or reassignments.
Can the lockers integrate with our existing access control or HR systems?
Yes. The Keynius platform provides API-based integration for external systems. This includes HR databases, building access control, and payment systems. Its USB QR readers and payment terminals use the Keynius Terminal API to synchronize credentials and transactions securely.
What materials and finishes are available for office or staff environments?
Keynius offers a wide range of cabinet materials and finishes. Steel lockers (Vault, Elite) are powder-coated in customizable RAL colors; wood-finish lockers (Luvio) use Egger decorative laminates; HPL models (Solid) provide durability for high-use areas; and the Rain model features waterproof outdoor construction. Accessories such as benches, sloping tops, and side panels allow visual consistency across environments.
How secure is the locker system—both physically and digitally?
The Keynius locker system is highly secure. Physically, lockers feature reinforced steel or HPL doors, TORX fasteners, motorized locks, and mechanical overrides for emergencies. Digitally, all components are CE, FCC, and UKCA certified, with IP ratings up to IP65 for outdoor units. Data and access credentials are encrypted and stored securely on EU-hosted cloud servers that comply with European data protection standards.
Is remote management possible, and can administrators open or reassign lockers offsite?
Yes. Administrators can fully manage the system remotely. Through the Keynius Portal or app, they can open lockers, assign or remove users, adjust settings, locate locks, monitor battery status, and synchronize updates across all connected devices—all from any location.
What happens if power or network connectivity is lost—can lockers still be accessed?
The system is designed for fail-safe access. Wired René locks feature a mechanical override that allows doors to open during outages, and Smart Home controllers have offline operation modes. Battery-powered LEO locks can be accessed via local Bluetooth or recharged using USB-C in case of battery depletion.
How scalable is the system if we expand to multiple sites or add more users later?
The Keynius system is fully modular and scalable. A single Smart Home Teacher can manage up to 13 Students, controlling up to 224 locks. Additional cabinets and controllers can be added at any time, with all devices managed from the same cloud environment—ideal for multi-site organizations or future expansion.
