Summary
A new interactive feature for a leading retail destination
Hoog Catharijne, one of the Netherlands’ largest and busiest malls, set out to create a community-focused experience where children and families could donate, swap, or pick up items such as toys and books. Working with Groundbreakers, Klepierre developed a locker-based concept supported by a custom Keynius system, giving visitors a safe and self-service way to exchange items within a high-traffic retail environment.
No digital system for item exchange
There was no existing structure for visitors to safely donate, receive, or swap items in the mall.
Experience-driven requirements
The concept needed to be intuitive, engaging, and visually aligned with Groundbreakers’ experience design.
Need for custom workflows
Standard locker flows could not support the required “donate,” “receive,” and “swap” functionality.
